Every year when Samsung launches the Note, they update the S Pen as well as the S Pen software. This year was no exception.
The image above shows the Note 4 and Note 5 S-Pens. The major differences visually are that the Note 5 S-Pen has a push button so it is easy for the user to pull it out. This is new, something unorthodox as you would not want a moving or springy part in there however, that is OK. It does not seem to have any issues so far.
On the remainder part of the, the S-Pen seems thinner and smoother. However, in the new S-Pen, you CAN enter is backwards and it WILL get stuck. Something Samsung may have overlooked, but nonetheless.
On the software side Samsung incrementally tweaked the S-Suite of apps. The most obvious one in my opinion is option to add any apps/shortcuts to the Air Command menu when you click the S-Pen button. Besides this, the other tweaks are minor and nothing to write home about.
So there you have it. The new S-Pen with the Note 5. Regardless of what anyone says, S-Pen and its suite of apps are the best stylus/software combo you can have on any smart device. Have a good one.
Until Next Time.
