Samsung Galaxy S 3 Does not support Adobe Flash!

I think this should be emphasized to potential customers looking to buy this phone. I chose this phone over the iphone 5 because i knew iphones didn't support flash in their web browsers. This is a deal breaker for me because i like to browse the intenet on my phone in full desktop mode and watch trailers and videos without having to watch them in an app like youtube. I'm also let down because i mentioned this to the sales person at the sprint store when he was activating this new phone for me. I cant believe he didn't tell me that flash wasn't supported on the S3 either. How ignorant!  . I just found out today that the S3 doesn't support adobe flash because 4.1 + android operating systems do not support it anymore. This makes no sense to me because it limits the capability of browsing the internet on the phone. I tried downloading adobe flash to the phone and also installed chrome, and FF and i still cant watch videos in the browser or access flash required content. I hope there is going to be some official fix or work around by Google, adobe, or Samsung for this. Does anyone know of a fix or work around? Or am i completely wrong about this and have a defective phone?

This has nothing to do with the GS3.  It is a move by Adobe to help push content providers to HTML5. This was announced well before the release of the Galaxy S3. Here's an article explaining it:

Even though searches for it in Google play won't return a result, you can still grab it if you have the direct link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.flashplayer&feature=related_apps

You'll have to enable installation from unknown sources on your phone to do this.  Google it.

Good luck.

I'll bet it would REALLY help if they stopped supporting flash on Windows.

I understand your frustration and I too was concerned about losing flash.  Having recently switched from an Evo 4G to the Samsung Galaxy 3, I am over the top pleased in all respects.  Since I've actually began heavy video use on my SG3, I've experienced excellent streaming video in all phases on many different websites.  I am a heavy data user and insist on apps that provide video capabilities.  Running Jellybean has made it even better.  I also noticed that the SG3 runs faster on 3G than my Evo did on 4G (Wimax).

While I know it's frustrating when you want to use your device one way and it does not support it, there may be a work around.  Many customers are able to find applications in Google Play for the flash websites they are trying to use.  ESPN, for instance is a free application in Google Play.  Hope that helps.  Since it's 3rd party, of course Sprint cannot support it, but it's always good to check your options.
