Hello, I live in the Dayton, OH area and my signal strength is horrible too. I used to have an HTC EVO and I could make calls and receive text with no issues but that is not the case with my new GS3. I have to go outside to make a call while at work and forget about sending a text. The GS3 blows the EVO away except in making calls and texts which really are the most important things in a phone IMO.
I went to the Sprint Store again today. They are going to give me a new S3. So we will see if anything improves. I really hope so since I spent a lot on accessories.
Trying the app called open signal, gives you the % of connection and shows you where the towers are. going to install on EVO and S3 and compare. Will post results.
I will add my name to the list. Signals is horrible. I've put an EVO next to it for comparison. EVO had two bars. S3 had nothing. Severely regretting my decision to overlook the warnings about Samsung radios.
Wife still has Evo no problems, got rid of Galaxy S2 had no problems, going to take the evo and S3 and ride around the area and do some testing, Downloaded some siginal meter apps.
same problem..had s evo..now gs3...drop calls, no data connection...and the lastest...cracked screen...phone never dropped...googled and found this is an ongoing problem with the gs3..just google cracked screen
most have said that theyre getting the same signal strengths between the old evo and the SIII/EVO LTE...but its showing 1 less bar..do you have any reception at all? can you make a call or get data when its showing no bars?
also the bar graphs are by not as accurate as people think..
