we have spent so long with support trying to resolve this issue. i have no problem sending messages when away from my home. but when my wife gets home and tries to send a sms message after the phone has hooked up to the airave, i get a code 97 error. sprint just sent a replacement phone and i activated it while not on airave as it was suggested in this forum but text was still blocked. i have been on the phone with an airave "specialist" and he tested my airave and said it was responding correctly. i have googled this and everyone seems to be able to re-boot there airave and they are good to go but for some reason not me. i appreciate any help or advice from anyone with knowledge of this issue. i have completely had it up to here with this phone issue. | |
Solved! Go to Solution.
Through talking to many Sprint Airave techs ( some know more than others) you can get a block on your phone so that it will not connect to any Airave.
This is something to try. It has worked for us so far but time will tell. We have the same issues with both of our Galaxy S3 phones and our airave. No amount of rebooting was helping us either until it dawned on me what was happening. It appears that if your phone is activated, OR the airave is booted in range of a phone, that phone may have issues. Try putting your phone or phones into airplane mode shutting off all radios. Then reboot your airave and let all of the lights green up. Only then take your phone out of airplane mode and acquire signal. Never update your profile or prl while in range of an airave. So far this has worked and both of our GS3's have been able to text outbound. Once again, time will tell and I'll try to update if this changes. Also, if you have updated your profile and prl while in range of an airave, you may want to do it again while only in cell tower range.
So far so good, but time will tell. If this changes I'll try to update.
Worked Great !!! Thank you!
Sprint did reset my MSID and so far texting on and away from Airave seems ok. They pushed more software updates to the new Airave they sent me to.
I have a feeling however that they are not sure this is a complete fix. They mentioned Airave folks working on permanent solution.
Best wishes in getting a resolution.
All I can say I no longer have issues on or off the Airave.
Hi there, was having same texting/airave issue with my "new" iPhone 4S that I bought yesterday. Went thru a bunch of other issues trying to activate an iPhone yesterday even though it was a 4s. Let's just say the quick update that the salesperson told me to "just do at home" when you plug into iTunes took 6 hours to download meaning I couldn't activate or use my new phone for about half the day.
But I digress. After finally getting it to work ok (calls, email, calendar, contacts, FaceTime, etc...) both in my house with an Airave and out in the real world, I realized the only people i could send/recieve texts from were people with other iPhones. I swear. Friends thought it had something to do with iMessage or SMS settings on the iPhone. No.
I was having Airave issues since the new, out of the box iPhone was activated/updated over my Airave. So, I followed the above post suggestion: turn iPhone to airplane mode, unlug Airave, wait for Airave to reboot and be totally happy (all solid, non-blinking green lights), turn airplane mode back off, let phone re-acquire signal, VIOLA! Now I can send/receive texts without issues.
Hope this helps someone?
Oops, clarification:
I WAS able to send/recieve all texts when I was off the Airave, either outside my house or another part of town. The only issue I had was when I was inside my house in range of the Airave and tried to text non-iPhone users. Not 100% sure why I still could text iPhone users, but not others (BlackBerry, Android users)??
Friggin' technology.
I went from an Evo to the SG3 and going throught the same problem
Nylox2004 ur awesome! Thanks! It worked, my text went through. Put phone on airplane mode turn off airave. Although, I'm back to one signal bar at home. Any suggestion?
Try Nylox2004's suggestion. It worked for me!
Try Nylox2004 suggestion, turn airave off, put ur phone on airplane mode then turn on airave then disable airplane mode. Also if you updated your profile while in airave, update it again while airrave is off. Hope that helps, best of luck!
Nylox2004's solution worked for me for Evo 4G. Could not send or re-send SMS messages. Switching to Airplane mode and back allowed me to re-send failed messages and send new messages without problems.
