Re: problems adding aol to my email

What error are you getting when you add the e-mail account? are using POP or exchange when you try to set it up?

Re: problems adding aol to my email

I am using the imap as told by sprint tech support.  all of the codes are correct sprints answer was to use a 3rd party app.  I have friends with a verizion s5 and my wife has a s4 and it works on both of them

Re: problems adding aol to my email

I have also tried pop but aol uses imap as per them    the sprint store rep blamed it on aol.  sprint customer service said to change phone and store rep said it was fine    I wish I knew who was correct

Re: problems adding aol to my email

KYLEE74 - Thank you for posting. Were these the steps and ports you were provided when you called support? I want you to try the steps again and let's see if we can get it working on your phone.
Step 1:

From the home screen, tap Email.
Step 2:

Enter the Email address and Password.

Tap Next.

Note: If an email account is already set up, tap the Menu icon, tap Settings, tap Manage accounts, and tap the Add icon.

Step 3:

The handset will automatically search for the settings.

If the settings are found, tap to change the Account options as desired and tap Next.

Enter AOL as the account name and enter Your name as it should appear on outgoing emails. Tap Done. The email account is set up.

If the handset is unable to find the settings, tap IMAP account.

Step 4:

Enter your user name in the User name field.

The Password will be automatically entered from the previous steps.

Enter imap.aol.com in the IMAP server field.

Tap Security type and tap SSL.

Enter 993 in the Port field.

Tap Next.

Step 5:

Enter smtp.aol.com in the SMTP server field.

Tap the Security type field and tap SSL.

Enter 465 in the Port field.

Tap Next.
