Message Sent notice in error

Recently when I swipe to move from my lock screen, I hear a message from the phone “Message Sent.”  It is the same message I hear when I send a text message.  However, I did not send a message, nor are there any new messages in my message log, nor are there messages marked as Draft that were previously unsent.  It occurs whether I am on wifi or using Sprint data.  This just started, soft resets have not helped.  I have a Galaxy S7 using Android v7.0.  There are no unapplied updates, and when I check, my phone shows I am up to date.  I’m concerned messages are being sent for which I have no knowledge, and uncertain if when I do hear the message when sending texts, if they actually are sent.  Any ideas?

Hey there! thank you for bringing this concern with the device to our attention. Please perform these steps to the device and make sure you have a Wi-Fi connection.

  • From the home screen, swipe down the Status bar.
  • Tap the Settings icon.
  • Scroll to and tap System Update.
  • Tap Update Profile.
  • Once the profile update is complete, tap OK.
  • The data profile is now up to date.
