So I was able to get a Galaxy tablet 3 from sprint for free. I received it in the mail on Wednesday. I have not been able to activate it for cellular data. I will not pay monthly for something that doesn't have cellular data on it. I can't activate it through sprint zone because it did not come with sprint zone and there's no way to download it. Needless to say Sprint I am not happy. Between the crappy service I get and now a tablet without cellular service I'm seriously considering bailing and going back to verizon.
i've reached out to sprint several times in the last few day...they want me to go to a sprint store where I was for 3 hrs Friday evening...there has to be a better way and going to a store is not it for me
The tablet has a separate data plan not tied to your cell phone. They are going to make you pay infamous additional fees for the free tablet. Whatever the rep says is not going to mean anything unless it is on your contract. READ IT!
What worked for me was to go to the settings menu and select activate this device. Afterwards it gave me a pin and some other number and my "phone number". It still showed preparing services but after a restart all was good to go.
