Auto Receive problems

I am having a problem with auto receive with my Gmail account. It worked fine until I added a Yahoo account but when I wanted to remove the Yahoo account the only way I could find was to reset application. But now that I have reinstalled the Gmail account it will not auto receive. When I try to turn it on I get an error ( Unable to configure push email for this account) I didn't change anything in gmail so why can't I make it work again?

I would recommend that you verify that the gmail account on your phone has the option selected to auto-receive.  Here is how to do that:

  1. Touch Main Menu icon.
  2. Select the Email icon.
  3. Touch Back button until the Email Home Page appears.
  4. Touch next to the desired e-mail account.
  5. Touch Settings.
  6. Select from the following options:
  7.  Account Name -

     Get 25 most recent -

     Get 1K of text - configure

     Tell me I have mail -

    Auto-receive - set up the device to automatically upload any new incoming e-mail once it is available on the server.

  8. Touch Done.

After performing these steps, turn your device off then back on.  If you email does not begin to automatically receive, please feel free to visit, call or chat with an agent to have your device further troubleshooted and your services refreshed. After being brought to my attention, I can see where I may have interrupted your post incorrectly.  I did not realize that you were turning on the Auto Receive function when getting the error, I thought that error was coming up when turning the device on or accessing mail.  However, I have consulted with a Technical Support Specialist who told me that this has been an issue occasional with gmail accounts.  The Specialist recommended that you remove both emails from your device, then add them back.  If the problem persists, and you are unable to auto receive emails for the email account, you should contact Gmail, as this issue seems to relate to their server.

Actually it is the program. So tell tech support to stop lieing. I am having a similar problem. I can access gmail through the web and the gmail program. I can also get push if I select other and put the proper (which is not present in the program) technical information. I can't get it with the gmail option. That means it is not prpgrammed correctly in some of the phones. (by the way what you have read is real troubleshooting. Not the useless thing your untechs did.)

I have a problem getting my gmail also. It will show up on my computer but the phone sometimes will take hours to show the new email. I'm a Realtor and most of the time I need these emails on a timely basis. This is not a good thing that sometimes it doesn't work on a regular basis.
