Well against my better judgement, I decided to order the Instinct ... BUT guess what ? it is backordered!... Knowing how Sprint works it might be months before I get my phone... In which case I will be leaving for another carrier.
I ordered mine on Friday morning and received it Monday evening. I had gone into a store and they put me on a waiting list. Needless to say I have my phone and they haven't called me yet.
To clarify, I have been a sprint customer for over 8 years. So I have been through it all and was seriously getting ready to switch carriers when the Instinct came out. Hence my line (against my better judgment) It looks like a great phone but after reading all of these posts about its problems (while waiting for mine to be delivered) I may have really made a bad decision.
Iam feeling you on that move to another carrier.
To have us place the order knowing that it is on backorder is DISHONEST AND MISLEADING!!!!!!!
There should have been something in place that notified customers before we finally submitted the order.
My current phone is on its last leg (almost 5 years old). Therefore I decided to go ahead an upgrade.
I debated a few days on this purchase then decided to spend a nice portion of my vacation money on the "instinct".
Now I am almost $300.00 short on vacation money.
Probably no phone while on vacation (the oneI already have will not even allow me to dial the numbers at times).
And last but certainly not the least, they are saying I cannot be refunded my money (at least I could go in a sprint store and purchase something better than what I have)
I am so furious about the entire ordeal.
SPRINT IS REALLY GOING DOWN HILL FAST.
In the past I would take up for sprint when my friends say that they haveterrible service....No more!!!!!

I have a tracking number for my order but the representatives told me it was just the mail in rebate form and not for the phone because it was backordered. However, i tracked my order and noticed that it was a package, 2.10 lbs and it was next day shipping, the shipping method i used to order my phone. I reallllyyyy hope this is the phone, keeping my fingers crossed 😃

So with that said, the dealer that I work at ran out yesterday. The problem is that since Monday they haven't been available via Direct Ship to our customers and they haven't been available via Brightpoint any day since release day. Where are these new supplies of Instinct on a daily basis going, because they don't appear to be available from where I am sitting?
I ordered an Instinct along with two other phones on the 24th from a store, none in stock. I received one of the other phones the next day (Centro), the following day I received the another (Curve) and I am still waiting on the Instinct. I called the store on the 27th for the status. They advised me that my order has not come in, however, the store has received their stock. They have the Instinct in stock, however, because of how mine was ordered, I have to wait until my order comes in. They will not refund my money either. I paid over $800 for three phones and they have the one I am waiting on in the store and can't do anything about it. So, people that have been waiting and hearing about others after them getting their phone before them, apparently it all depends on who they chose to order your phone from. After several calls, the place mine was ordered from should be getting a shipment today and orders should be going out tomorrow. I was told mine should be delivered by Wednesday (to the store).
I would also like t mention that Sprint was very helpful, they gave me credit on my account for the hassle - not to mention I was ready to cancel the entire thing and I have been a Nextel customer for a long time.
My son doesn't care for the Centro and now would like the Instinct... maybe more problems yet. We were given the phones, however, they are not activated. Hopefully this will not lead to more headache>>>
I went to a Sprint store on Friday evening. They told me that all the stores were sold out and hopefully they would get a new shipment in on Monday. I decided to try another store and they had about 10 left. The first store told me they were on backorder. You may be surprised if you shop around how many stores actually have them. I love mine!!!
Sorry to hear the issues with the Back orders but just to give you guys some comfort contact your local Corporate Sprint Store we have a completely diffrent warehouse in which we receive are phones and we have been receiving steady shipments of Instincts currently my store has over 45 Instincts in stock so if you made a order and its backordered and the store have them in stock we can contact the Telesales to cancel the order and take care of you in the store. Again stores are receiving a steady shipment to keep up with the demand so contact your closest Corporate Store by using the Store Locator on Sprint.com in the top right hand corner. Hope this helps.
