Can you set the phone to automatically save pictures just taken to the memory card?

After taking a picture the phone automatically saves to the phone. Can you change that setting so it will save automatically to the memory card?

When you go to "My Photos" from the fun tab, you will see 2 folders on your phone called "Camera" and "Saved". Both are on the MicroSD card. The one named "Camera" stores all pictures taken from the phone and the one named "Saved" denotes pictures saved from attachments, etc.

But they are both on the MicroSD card!

I was gonna say, I don't think you can take pics without the memory card. You kinda sorta don't have a choice <img src="http://forums.buzzaboutwireless.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif" title="Smiley Wink" b...

hey guys, something extremely interesting here, you cant...

hey guys, something extremely interesting here, you cant take pics without an sd card in the phone, thats correct, atleast on mine. but get this. if you set a picture you have in your camera folder or saved folder to a contact, it doesnt change say if i hook the phone up to my laptop with the usb cable and change the pic like crop or what have you. it changes on the sd card but not on the phone. i can remove the pic from the contacts profile completely, then re add the newly changed photo off the sd card and the OLD uncropped photo will show up no matter what i do.... I HATE THIS PHONE BTW.. everything is like this on it, its so buggy nothing works as it should. does someone have any idea what the hell is going on with this. i know the photo is changed i can pull it from the sd card to my laptop and its exactly how i edited it. i can veiw it in the my photos section in the phone itself and its changed in there as well to the newly cropped one that i want. yet it will NOT add to the contacts profile as the new picture???? there has to be some internal phone memory used for this as it make no sense any other way. so chivsthed is right on with this phone storing photos on its internal memory and not the sd card alone. how to fix it?? anyone pls email me.

I had this exact same problem. I couldn't get it to use a new cropped picture in place of an old uncropped one. Then I came up with this theory of what might be going on... Maybe it IS using the new cropped picture. When you crop a picture, you may not be removing the data for the edges of the picture from the .jpg file itself. I think it may be that it simply adds instructions to the .jpgfile of where to crop it. Perhaps the Instinct can't read cropping instructions correctly? Just a theory. It's the only one that made sense to me.

Can anyone on the board verify what exactly cropping does to the .jpg?

I found that you have to rename the cropped file, For instance if the original file was labeled "Mom" Change the label of the cropped one to "Mom1" That's what worked for me. I wasn't sure what size to make the contact images so assuming that the music player liked them 250x250, I tried them that size and they look great.

Right on, Levi, much simpler than my theory. I spent way too much time trying to figure that one out, and all I had to do was rename the file... uggh!
