No longer a smartphone...

When I first got my instinct, i went to sprint.com, and clicked on "PDA/Smartphones" and the instinct was at the top of the list. I did it again just now and it's no longer there. Is sprint admitting this is not the "iphone killer" they made it out to be? The iphone is obviously a "smartphone."

Re: No longer a smartphone...

Sprint categorized the Instinct as a smartphone for about the first two weeks, they took it out of that category about a couple months ago after they realized their mistake.

It truly was sold to me as a smartphone - an iPhone killer (if you will)...it is certainly NOT, but I am not giving up on it. I think the dev apps will unleash some business functionality. I hope. If not, I will further stimulate the economy and buy something different. Perhaps the next great thing that will most likely dissapoint...Hey, anybody seen my bag phone? Maybe I should simplify...

This message has been moved into a new thread and has been put on a different board.

Re: No longer a smartphone...

It's now a "Media Phone" that is very limited at handling different media.

It was great having it on the Smart Phone page because Sprint Reps, especially here would say IT IS NOT A SMART PHONE when we would ask for stuff like Calendar Sync and better OWA support, PDF viewer etc... because Sprint was listing at a Smart Phone.

I guess it's cheaper and easier for them just to move it off the Smart Phone page than them actually try to do something cool and useful.

Thanks for the link. I think after reading about it, I'll just stick with the instink. It has issues and everything, but its a lot more than what i used to have, and a lot more than what a lot of other people have.

I've just been dissapointed by this phone since day one. I loaded up the TV application as soon as I got it and thought, "What the hell!?"

lolTV

Look at that. Are they serious? That's like blatent false advertising. The TV never looks anything near that quality, even if it's a still frame.

Ugh. I'm stuck with this phone. Sprint knows if they release the updates or not, people like me are screwed anyways.

i don't understand why people are complaining about the tv? my tv looks like that 98% of the time and yes it does get distorted every once in a while

I think people are complaining about the video because when you compare it to other Sprint TV phones, the Instinct has a horrible picture.
