DI06 vs DI18 showing up online?

What are the differences between these? Someone told me that there was a DI18 update but it said DI06.

Re: DI06 vs DI18 showing up online?

DI18 was for the Samsung Epic, not the Moment.  If you're on DI06, you're current on the Moment.

Re: DI06 vs DI18 showing up online?

Multiple people have now confirmed that the build numbers are showing as DI18 on the Moment. This obviously isn't the Epic update since the Moment would have been rendered useless. Anyone know what's going on?

Also, I'dlike to point out that the file name for the file that SW Upgrade Lite flashes is SPH-M900_MR3_DI18_REL.tar.md5, not DI06...

I can't explain what they're posting, but can confirm that the Moment (M900) MR3 was released as DI06.  And, DI18 was just released for the Epic.  Would think maybe they were mixing up the two, but that doesn't explain that file name.

Re: DI06 vs DI18 showing up online?

Something strange is posted; it says "Dated 10/16/2010" and "Addressing and correcting Airplane Mode situation".  Does the development team have a slightly modified Delorean?

I have not tried installing it yet...maybe waiting for 10/16?

Yeah if they totally mixed it up then it would render many moments useless if it did flash or it wouldn't have flashed at all.

Re: DI06 vs DI18 showing up online?

Please follow the process documented here:  http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/44927?tstart=0. The DI06 software should be available for your phone now.  I have no idea what the 10/16 date is about or what others are finding on the developer's forum.

Out of curiosity, can you look up what software version your phone is on and post it here?

LOL, Now it states Dated: 10/6/2010     http://shop.sprint.com/en/software_downloads/pda_smartphone/samsung_moment.shtml
Also your "HERE" link is dead.

Ok, apparently they decided yesterday to make this available via download on sprint.com.  It wasn't suppose to go live until tomorrow 10/6, but it's available early (today).

So, if you want to apply the update via the download process, you can use http://shop.sprint.com/en/software_downloads/pda_smartphone/samsung_moment.shtml

Re: DI06 vs DI18 showing up online?

I'm slightly confused here...

DI06 was provided to me via OTA on September 25th.  I just checked the version information in my phone:

Baseband version: S:M900.8.0S.DE03

Build Number: ECLAIR DI06

I was reading in another thread that both fields should indicate DI06.  So I went to System Updates and hit Update Firmware.  Behold there was another update available so I took it.  Now the versions read the following:

Baseband version: S:M900.8.OS.DI06

Build Number: ECLAIR DI06

This looks better -- but I am still really confused.

Now there is apparently a update available OTW and it is showing this is also DI06.  Looking at the "release notes" it looks like the OTW fixes the same thing as the OTA update.  However...  Peeking inside the install package shows DI18...  (see \Program Files\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade_line\Models\Binary).  So is it really DI06 or is it DI18?
