Samsung Moment CL14 issue: composing an e-mail

I have had the Moment since it came out in November.  I just went to my local Sprint store and recieved the CL14 update.  I have noticed my battery is lasting a lot longer, but I am now getting a black screen when trying to compose an e-mail.  This also is the case when trying to compose a text message.  If I am replying to an e-mail I have a white screen.  Has anyone had this issue, or know of a fix?
