It could also me a network issue, when my wife is at work her chat messaging turn to SMS  it once she gets out of work it's back to chat messages.

Its in line with a network issue - spoke to tech support and it's a known issue since last update. The steps I was given should have worked but didn't so I'm awaiting a " tech expert / specialist " to call me.

Yes , we've exchanged screen shots making sure all boxes checked on their end everything is working smoothly. But on mine its a bust. I'm awaiting a call from advanced tech support at the moment. It's a known issue since the latest update.

Everything is up to date . All boxes that should be checked were. Unfortunately I spent nearly 45 minutes tech support and they were unable to get to the route of the problem ( it's a known issue as of the latest update ) So I'm waiting to hear back from advanced tech support.

All 4 of our Samsung S8 and S8+ chat was broken in the last update. We tried Android Messages and updated our Samsung messages with no success. Chat and Read receipts are not working.

Strange...the 2 lab devices I used were on the latest software.  One S9 and the other S8.

It kept asking for a code to register chat, chat is greyed out.. I turned off Calling Plus and group chat showed up but only one contact shows, does that mean it's not enabled on the other people's phones now?

On the surface that seems weird, but it makes sense.  To date, only the S8's have been migrated to the new WiFi Calling servers.

Android Messages still shows the one person out of 6 I know with s8 and s8+ as having the ability to chat with or without Calling Plus enabled. What does Calling Plus have anything to do with it?

 

I guess thats good at least it's showing someone for the first time in a while.

Wifi Calling/Calling Plus operate on the same server and S8s have been migrated to the new server.  I just checked the 2 phones I used this morning and they both had WFC/CP turned on.

Yes Will, I thought this thread was dead and that I would have received an email notification if there was a response, which I never did.  In addition, I spent 14 hours on the phone with many different Sprint techs with no resolution.  They said it is a known issue and they are working on it, others said it is google's fault, and other techs blamed samsung.  They said there is no fix and I have to wait.  Most techs are oblivious to the issue and have iphones.  I had to walk through 3 different sprint techs so they could replicate the problem on their end.  Can you please test on a S7??

 

I just know it was working and now has not been for a month.  I have all the right settings and have tried with wifi calling enabled but no luck.  My messages details to someone else with sprint RCS working on their end show as text and sent NOT chat and read.

 

What is the fix?  How do I get the code texted to me to reenable RCS?  You mentioned you tested on a S8 and S9 but what about a S7?
