I am unable to get my Sprint voicemail app to recognize any voicemails. I receive no notifications and when I open the app it says no voicemails. If I call in I am notified of the many voicemails I have missed. I was just on the phone with Sprint support for an hour and they offered no solution. Is Sprint really unable to offer a functional voicemail app in 2018 on a $1,000 phone? Has anyone found a solution for this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
How long have you had the phone? Do you know if you're in a trial for visual voicemail? Have you checked the visual voicemail app to see if the voicemails are listed there?
I tried everything to fix this including going to the Sprint store and contacting Samsung. It's definitely a Sprint issue and Sprint definately does not care. At the Sprint store the guy signed me up for premium voicemail without asking, than when it didn't work just said "sorry dude" I had to figure out I was signed up for a monthly fee that did nothing and unsubscribe myself. I'm using youmail now. It's a free app and it works. Sprint is selling a $1000 phone and breaking basic functionality on it and they really really really really don't care.
Hey there. Lets work together, to see if we can figure this out. What steps have you done, in order to try and fix this issue?
I have reset the profile, had a Sprint store rep take it in the back and do whatever he did back there(I think just signed me up for premium visual voicemail) run through the hardware diagnosis through the Sprint AP that comes with incurance, including chatting with a rep there for about an hour, chatted with Sprint support online directly for about an hour and called into Sprint where I again talked for about an hour before being escalated to another specialist which resulted in me being hung up on. I also went through this same ordeal last year with a Samsung Galaxy s8+. I spoke to Samsung and they believed it may have something to do with previously using Google voice, which I did previously use. This seemed to be a dead end when brought up with Sprint. I'm going on two years and two different phones with no Sprint voicemail AP functionality. Zero. Youmail is a third part app that I was able to set up in about five minutes and it works. If there is anyone at Sprint cabable of getting me a functional Sprint voicemail AP on these flagship phones I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi, not sure if you found a resolution to this or not, but I just received my Note 9 today in the mail. I am doing a swap, so turning in a Galaxy S 8 for the Note 9. Activation went pretty well, though my photos did not come over even though I backed them up to Google and Samsun Cloud. Anyway I digress. My visual voicemail did not work. Tried the chat on sprint.com, as an employee I have to use that. No luck there, wanted to teach me how to archive a voicemail. When I called my phone, just rang until I hung up. When I called voicemail got a busy signal. Here is what I did to make my voicemail work. I enabled wifi calling in settings, this is free calling by the way, I typically keep it turned off because I have dropped calls before when out of wifi range. While on wifi calling I called voicemail and was able to log in and move around inside voicemail. I turned wifi calling off, called voicemail again and was able to log in and move around, called my phone and left a voicemail, badge icon showed I had a new voicemail, called and listened to me talk to me. Anyway, that worked for me, if you are still having the issue I hope this works for you.
Thanks for the suggestion! In my case voicemail works if I call in, but it never connects to the app on my phone. I've tried with WiFi calling on and wifi calling off, but that doesn't seem to get it to recognize in the app. I've literally gotten no help from Sprint at all on this issue. I ended up just installing youmail, which is free and works for me.
Thanks...that's exactly what just happened to me with my new Note 9 switched from S8+. Dial VM and its busy signal..no access to VM other than thru Premium VM and to set up VM they call my VM and what do you know?? Busy signal...lol. Your idea worked...thanks.
RESOLUTION... (maybe) so this has been my issue for 2 weeks. today I realized a possibility solution and it worked for me...
close voicemail app and remove from memory
go to settings/apps
select force stop
select clear cache
select clear data
relaunch voicemail app
The app should start as if brand new. Make sure to allow all permissions.
best wishes !
Thank you, @svr69, for sharing your experience. I hope to hear that it works for some others too.
