Problems activating a factory unlocked Galaxy S10e

I have tried the online tool and online support.

Bought a phone from Samsung through Amazon here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N4M495N

The online tool would not accept the IMEI when activating the new phone on an existing line.

The web chat support said that the phone wasn't compatible with Sprint and then suggested that it wasn't unlocked. They tried twice and said to visit a store. Given my previous experiences with our local Sprint stores and phone swaps/SIM cards, I would love to avoid it (they didn't know how to do it).

Help!

Based on the information in ANSWER: Is My Phone Eligible for BYOD with Sprint?, the phone isn't eligible as a BYOD yet.

Re: Problems activating a factory unlocked Galaxy S10e

Wow, with all of my previous BYODs I haven't seen that it wasn't supported at the same time as the phone could be purchased from Sprint.

According to Amazon's website (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N4M495N)

) where I bought it "Voice, data and messaging services are compatible with most major U.S. GSM and CDMA networks. Visit samsung.com for information on your device".

Samsung's web site (https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/phones/unlocked-by-samsung/frequently-asked-questions/) says "1) Will the Unlocked by Samsung Galaxy S10/S10+ work with major US carriers? Yes, it works on major U.S. networks including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular".

Not really as important, but the Best Buy (another seller of the unlocked phone) website (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-galaxy-s10e-with-128gb-memory-cell-phone-unlocked-prism-black/6...) says "Universal Unlocked
Compatible with all major U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Also works with prepaid carriers, including Cricket Wireless, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, Tracfone, Net10, Mint, and H2O."

Given all of these references to the *Unlocked* phone working with Sprint, how soon do we think it will be supported as BYOD?

I don't have a timeline for you right now. We update our BYOD list so I'd keep an eye on that.

Does anyone know how long the gap has been with previous Samsung generations between when Sprint is offering a locked version vs. BYOD was supported? All of my previous phones have been Pixels.
