I just connected a regular microUSB cable to my phone into the computer. The computer sees it as a new device but the phone does nothing. It gives no indication that it's charging. Do I need a special cable to charge via usb?
Found it. The USB driver for SCP-2700 work with this phone. I have attached these drivers.
After the drivers are installed, the phone can be charged via USB, only when connected to a compupter. A regular microUSB cable will not charge through a USB car or wall adapter.
Also, when attempting to use the phone as a modem, I get this error:
Error Code 67
Registration failure. Your Sprint Data Services username and/or
password may be incorrect
Does anyone know what Sprint uses as username and pass? It use to be web/web according to this article.
*UPDATE* - I read that sprint is banning tethering.
I have now installed the driver. Every thing seems to be working fine.
Where do I get the instructions on how to setup and use the phone as a modem?
Thanks for the driver and your help.
I am also looking to find out how to charge my Sanyo SCP2700 thru the USB cord on the computer, but I haven't been successful with finding the right driver to download. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The error code 67 means that you do not have the Hotspot add-on. This add on is only available for the Epic and the Evo (which are the only two phones that can be used as a modem).
Refer to the earlier messages in this thread for drivers...someone already posted them.
