I noticed that whenever someone sends me an emoji, it comes back as "" on my android app and as "\ufffd" when using Google Voice on my computer.
The emoji problem is a combination of having Google voice linked to my sprint phone. It worked for a few days on 1/8/2014 on my phone and I thought GV had been updated and had fixed the problem. I manage to receive sms messages on my phone with the emojis and the message app would receive them, though on GV's app and website they would still show as \uffd or as a ✨. Although I don't care if on the GV website or on my GV app the emoji doesn't show, it would be nice if the service didn't distort my text on my native SMS app. If I were to un-link my Sprint phone from google voice, which I did to test, I would get the emojis, once it is linked the SMS get garbled.
Thank you Google,

Is there any input on this from Sprint? I have had my Google voice number for years, and ported it to Sprint so I could use it integrated with Sprint for MMS and Google Voice, and it's the #1 reason I'm with sprint. To hear that emoji works on google voice for anyone that is not on Sprint is a huge blow to the service, and obviously an issue on Sprint's end. Can we get this fixed, or is there any news on this other than "thanks for letting people know"?
I don't understand why this hasn't been fixed yet. Is it really that [inappropriate word removed] hard to keep unicode characters from changing when sending a text?? Please do something about this!

This issue has nothing to do with Sprint. It is all Google on all carriers. Please contact google for a fix or just use Sprints provided voicemail and not Google.
