You’ll be seeing a lot more of Sprint if you live in the Houston area. Sprint is now the exclusive wireless provider for the fourth most populous city in the country, providing wireless services to 27 of Houston’s departments, including the mayor’s office, public works, police and fire departments, and health and human services.
Sprint will supply cellphones, push-to-talk devices, emergency communications and data services for most city departments. Houston Mayor Annise Parker signaled the importance of the contract by having a Sprint satellite truck parked next to City Hall to demonstrate emergency communications capabilities and by sending her council liaison around to give council members a look at the phones they’d be issued in an emergency.
Sprint is pleased to serve the city of Houston after being selected on this landmark occasion.
