Here is a list and brief summary of some of the larger projects launching in this weekend’s release:
My Sprint Registration Optimization
The My Sprint online registration process is being simplified and enhanced for a better user experience. Customers will now be asked for their phone number at the beginning of the process, enabling the site to present the correct registration experience for consumer or business users. Customers will also be presented with helpful information along the way, such as requirements for creating a secure username and password or setting their profile access level.
The registration process is also being introduced on m.sprint.com for consumer customers who would like to register from their phone.
This project will introduce a new functionality which will automatically begin the registration process for customers who purchase a new device, regardless of which channel they purchase or upgrade in.
When a customer buys a new device, if they don’t already have a sprint.com account set up, we will begin one for them. The customer will receive a secure registration link via text or email based on their preferred communication method, and be directed to a registration page to complete their online profile. This process will only occur for account owners who have provided their security information upon purchase.
Biz 3.0 - Phase 1
Business customers visiting Sprint.com will see a number of changes beginning Sunday, November 6. Starting with a redesigned Business homepage at www.sprint.com/business, visitors will find new pages with information on devices, services and solutions tailored for businesses of all sizes across a number of industries. Small business customers will be able to buy phones, tablets and mobile broadband devices in the new online store; and purchase pre-built solution packages that combine the best in mobile devices, accessories and plans in a streamlined shopping experience. Customers researching machine-to-machine solutions, converged solutions, information on mobile and cloud applications or business discounts will also find new pages and resources that help them learn more about how Sprint helps businesses get work done.
All visitors to sprint.com will see an update to the top navigation bar with two new tabs that allow visitors to switch quickly between personal and business sections of the site. An updated Contact us page provides a cleaner view of important phone numbers and resources to make it even easier to get help when it’s needed.
Biz IL Validation Project
Sprint is pleased to offer monthly discounts to employees, students, and members of companies, universities, and organizations that have a relationship with us, but verifying eligibility is key. This project will implement a new systematic process to validate customers’ eligibility for a business IL NVP discount and ensure only appropriate discounts are applied. Starting 11/6/11, this validation is required in all channels for new business IL accounts, existing customers requesting a business IL discount and existing customers switching from one business IL discount to another business IL discount.
U9 - Send to the store Treatment Web Channel
This project will implement a new process which will prevent potential fraudulent prospects from completing an online activation of a new line of service on Sprint.com. Instead, these prospects will be directed from Sprint.com to Sprint retail stores for further credit validation to complete their activation.
The objective of this initiative is to reduce fraud by sending potentially fraudulent customers to retail when attempting to activate a new line of service online. It is estimated that by implementing this process we will reduce 200 fraud cases with a financial impact of fraud in Web sales channel by $120,000 annually.
