Turn off Sprint Hotspot (Wi-Fi hotspot) services when not in use

  1. Press Home and tap Applications > Sprint Hotspot
  2. Tap Sprint Hotspot and uncheck the green checkmark to de-activate the service.

Deactivate the GPS when not needed

Many  applications that use GPS periodically access GPS satellites for your  current location, sometimes even when you're not using the application.  Each time an application does this, it uses additional battery power.

  1. Press Home > Menu
  2. Tap Settings > Location & security > Use GPS satellites
  3. Uncheck the green checkmark next to Use GPS satellites to de-activate the service

Turn off automatic application sync

  3. A green checkmark indicates the feature is enabled; uncheck the green checkmark to de-activate Auto-sync

Use the Task Manager feature to end/shutdown background applications that are still running

Applications running in the background can, over time, cause your device to slow down and use up critical battery life.

  1. To stop a currently running application, press Home > Menu
  2. Tap Settings > Applications > Running services
  3. Tap an on-screen process entry
  4. Read the Stop service? message and tap Stop to end the application

Change your Live Wallpaper to a non-animated image

Animated wallpapers use processing power, memory and more battery power.

  1. Press Home > Menu
  2. Tap Settings > Wallpaper
  3. Tap to choose Gallery, Live wallpapers or Wallpaper gallery
    • Gallery - choose pictures taken with the built-in camera or copied to your phone  to be the wallpaper image; you can crop the picture before setting it as  wallpaper
    • Live wallpapers - provides a selection of preloaded animated video wallpapers
    • Wallpaper gallery - provides a selection of preloaded wallpaper images
  4. Scroll through available images and tap a selection to preview it
  5. Tap Set wallpaper to assign the new wallpaper; in Gallery, tap Save to assign a picture as wallpaper

Important Note: Do not wait until your battery is completely dead before charging your phone. Repeating the process of a complete discharge and recharge of the battery can reduce the storage capacity of any battery.
