LG has started to enter the market of PAY services and has added a nice feature which allows the LG G8x to use the phone to talk to credit card machines and make payments. LG now lets users tie your credit/debit cards, gift cards, and loyalty cards to your phone so you no longer have to pull that wallet out. LG Pay is compatible with most NFC readers and magnetic stripe pay terminals.
There are 3 types of options Credit/Debit - Gift Cards - Loyalty
Currently for Credit and Debit only a few banks support LG Pay - Chase, USBank, PNCBank, Regions, SECU, and Virginia Credit Union. With Gift cards as an additional feature under the gift card option you not only can add gift cards to your LG Pay you can even buy gift cards and send them to people. If the other end user has LG Pay also, they have an added advantage. Before claiming the gift card, they have the option to change the gift card to some other type of gift should they not like the already selected option. This is a onetime feature only available to LG Pay users. Loyalty cards allows the user to add any type of loyalty card you put in. Along with taking a picture of the card and even scanning an existing bar code to be entered.
Once your cards are entered accessing the cards is a simple swipe up on the phone or a swipe from either left to right or right to left to bring up LG Pay. You can choose how the Pay features can be accessed including when the screen is off, from the lock screen, from the home screen, and yes even within any app. When the card is selected to use enter the assigned pin setup in the beginning to use the card and place the phone next to the card reader to be processed.
As a bonus right now LG is giving everyone who signs up $10 in LG Pay Perks Visa card.
