If I am eligible to upgrade my BYOD through My Sprint account, do I have to trade in my current BYOD phone registered on the Sprint network or can I upgrade and still keep my current BYOD phone in case of emergency needs (ex. upgrade phone has issues, need a phone to fall back on)?
It's always good to have a backup phone for emergencies. If you are eligible to upgrade, I say go for it! If you want me to check your eligibility, send me a private message.
Since the phone you have is a BYOD, the phone is yours. You won't have to turn it in unless you want to check into our buyback program. You can check out what your phone is worth at sprint.com/buyback. Let me know if you have any other questions!
