Ok, since nobody wants to ask the question, I will.

There are a whole lot of users that are waiting on the replacement for the ppc-6700 (the 6800 ofcourse). That info is all over the net with pictures. It looks like a great phone, but why the slow processor and not rev-a capable?

I know you guys have this phone in the pipeline and is in trials but please don't delete this post. People already know and have seen the pics...

A lot info is out on Verizon's version as well. I really hope Sprint's version is much better.

It sounds like the June 18th release date may also include WM6 but Rev.A is still up in the air. Still waiting for some type of confirmation from anyone from Sprint as to whether this rumor is true or not. Please confirm (or unconfirm and smash our hopes).

to be totally honest, competitive with whom? If you are worried that knowing the actual date will make people less likely to buy a 6700 (competitive vs yourself), that's valid. Excellent point. I believe there is anestimated release date for the iPhone, and I don't think that's considered a competitive disadvantage. Quite the opposite.

I'm ready to buy a PDA phone, and my Sprint contract is up at the end of the month. I'mtrying to decideif I should stay or not. If there's no news on the 6800 by June 1st, I'll probably be gone to another carrier. Some competitive advantage.

Maybe they meant that the competitive advantage was an advantage for the OTHER providers. No release date means we have no clue as to when the phone will arrive hich means that we might as well jump ship to another provider with MUCH better phones. My contract is up so I can jump ship at any time. I am so upset with Sprints practice of locking their network that I have been shopping Att rates. On their network, I could pick whatever GSM phone I want and use it on their network. VERY tempting.

There's a report on another forum that Sprint is anxious to get the unit out before the iphone. I'm not sure that they are really the same target market. I'm wondering if that is a guess or the truth. If it is, I have to wonder if Sprint execs know the difference between the two?

I'm going through the 5 stages of switching carriers right now. I was in denial that Sprint couldn't possibly stiff us with such an antiquated phone, then I had depression about Sprint not recognizing theirclients' concerns, then I was angry they were not interested in current technology, I'm moving into acceptance - next comes bargaining with ATT.

I'm choosing this to be my first post...I'd like to commend Boe for quoting Star Wars,Dylan Thomasand Shakespear in the same post...kudos!

I handle the PDA phone support for my company...and i want to throw in my two cents as well. I've come close to paying the ETF to go to Cingular so i can get the newer phones sooner. Most of the time my advice to our users would be to get Sprint or Cingular when they're going to buy a new phone but i've found myself recommending Cingular more and more due to their ability to deliver the newer phones. Granted the 8525 doesn't have WM6...You'd think a carrier that boasts the best network would also want to boast the best phones too. It's kinda like putting high octane gas into your 88 ford escort.....

They've already announced that they will be upgrading the 8525 to WM6. It's just a matter of when they'll be releasing the update.
