Did I miss something?

I received my iPhone4 only a few days ago and only yesterday did I open up the package. Everything was going smooth with the activation and importing of contacts. Even setting up e-mail and facebook went through with only minor hiccups. Now my phone just silently laughs at me with the "charging" symbol and a battery with a minimal red line. I have tried through my computer, the wall outlet adapter that came with the phone, and the usb adapter in my vehicle, and still nothing. In short, it has been 24 hours, my phone will not charge, and I am no longer able to even turn it on. Thanks for any assistance and will a sprint store be able to work with me or will I have to go to an apple store.
