This is the speedtest screen capture I did on my brand new iPhone 4S. As you can see, I got .016Mbps down and 0.05Mbps up. For those of you want to say maybe the network is just slow in my area. I did the same test with Samsung Epic Touch with 4G turned off at the same spot. It's 3 times faster. Is sprint crippling iPhone data rate, or there is something wrong with iPhone CDMA radio itself.
Speedtest snapshot since iPhone release. Looks like the speed is only decent during offpeak hours.
Today, I am seeing some improvement in mid-day. I will even tolerate .5Mbps, hope it will improve.

For those in the Orlando area, take this with a grain salt...
I spent 45 minutes on hold and being transferred around Sprint Tech Support. The third person I spoke with said there are two towers that are currently down in the Orlando area. Both are primarily used for data. One tower is scheduled to be back online on Sunday and the other for Monday. They also said that all the calls are helping to get things escalated. So keep calling.
Like I said take it for what it's worth...
Yep, Im doing the exact same thing...i got this service with the sole intention of being able to listen to stream internet music, have yet to be able to connect long enough to hear a whole song, had service for about a week.
I like your answer..
anyway, no one really answered an exact number for speeds.. I do HATE that SIRI is unusable even though i don't have a iphone which i was considering, and my daughter won't give up her texting long enough to play with SIRI.
but the forum made my decision to wait.. but i still would like to know what exact numbers MAX an Min should we expect or the Min number where things like Siri would not work.
How does SIRI work using Wifi? I wish my daughter let me try but thats like taking candy from a baby.
Still receiving 0.01-0.04 (yes, that's the max.) during the day.
For reference, I work overnights - and during midnight-5am (the bulk of my overnight shift) I get speeds of 1.6-1.9 mbps. Once 9am comes, it starts to get 0.50-.0.60. By 11am it's back to the "O" or 0.01 speeds.
What else does that suggest if not network congestion? Not in a major city either. Population 90k.
I dont know the exacts for speeds. My wifes Iphone is connected to our wifi at home, last night I did a speed test and was getting 11-12 mbps with WIFI. Her phone works amazing on WIFI, Siri works great as well. It is frustrating when we leave the house, but I think we are used to the superfast speeds of WIFI. Without WIFI our house has 2-3 bars (not great reception) and we get 0.2 to 0.6 mbps. I havent tested it with 4 or 5 bars yet, but it is acceptable speeds and web pages load fairly fast. Siri is slower when I turn off WIFI, but I havent had it not work yet. Just my two cents. Good luck.
Just wanted to update. Although I posted satisfactory data speeds, those were from my place of work in Sunnyvale, CA (I am still getting 0.6 Mbps - 1.2+ Mbps at work). At home in Milpitas is a different matter.
At home, I have been getting 0.1 Mbps - 0.3 Mbps. So after a few days of testing, I have called the technical support line this morning to issue a ticket for my area. Although they didn't give me a ticket number right away, I was told that I was able to call to check the status of it with my area/zip.
I just got a return call from the CSR that spoke with me, and was told that the supervisor/manager was very interested in having these issues resolved in my area. They also asked me to supply them with my data speeds at home (I used the Speedtest app) so that it can give them a better idea of how severe the problem is.
According to the CSR that spoke to me, my call and area were a real concern and reassured me that it'll be looked into immediately.
So with all that said, the CSRs I've dealt with have been really helpful (vs At&t). One of the reasons I want to switch to Sprint, eventhough I have grandfathered in the unlimited plan at AT&T. Also cause with Sprint there's unlimited texting AND to Canada.
I hope these issues can be solved as I do not want to go back to AT&T. Plan pricing for me works out to be pretty much the same for both, but the unlimited texting and to canada was what sold me.
So everyone, PLEASE keep calling them if you haven't already. Don't call just to complain. Get in touch with someone that can issue a ticket to a tech in your area.
Good luck and I'll follow-up when and if I get any updates.

Yea WIFI, even on my Epic phone, in my house i only get 2 bars for calling and im right by my front window. and there are cell towers across the street on a 3rd floor building. Weather they are Sprints towers are another matter.
Now yesterday, i was in NY, i live in brooklyn NY and i could not even get 4g signal outside on my Epic at times, And i ve used my Epic a lot when i was in a inpatient, but since the iphone is when i started noticing problems with my own EPIC phone.
and 3g, is or course, just as worst or worster, worster.. is that even a word.. but yea. i m considering, the jump, even though i have close to 20 months remaining on my contract but probably won't until sprint fixes this network. I have until the iphone5 to really decide or how bad i want SIRI even just using it with WIFI.
One thing is Voice Actions app, Jeannie is her name works like Siri so far i ve asked the same questions i seen people ask SIri and gotten the same results. Jeannie even asks me questions as if she's tryiing to get to know me.
Yes sir. Sprint needs more than Luck to fix this, or keep me... Only the clock is ticking
