Is the iPhone 5 Sprint's first 800mhz LTE phone?

According to all the news articles, the CDMA model of the iPhone 5 supports a wide array of LTE bands including the 800 mhz one that Sprint plans on using in the future. Can Sprint confirm that it will work on Sprint's 800 mhz LTE when it's switched on? Also, will newer phones support 800 mhz LTE from now on?

Re: Is the iPhone 5 Sprint's first 800mhz LTE phone?

Please find below the info about iPhone 5 using  Sprint 3G and 4G LTE network supporting

4G LTE network capabilities

  • iPhone 5 use the Sprint 3G and 4G LTE network supporting:
    • CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    • UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    • GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
    • LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 13, 25)

  • During the pre-launch phase, customers with capable 4G LTE devices may begin to see 4G LTE coverage in these areas and are welcome to use the network even before it officially launches.
  • Sprint plans to announce commercial availability of 4G LTE in these cities in the coming months, at which point we expect coverage, performance and reliability to get even better.
  • Eventually, the markets will fill in until coverage largely matches the existing nationwide 3G footprint.
  • By the end of 2013, Sprint expects to have completed the nationwide build out of the all new 3G and 4G network.

Hope this helps
