I have been a sprint customer for 15 years. I've never been with anyone else. I've referred friends and family to Sprint. I love Sprint. Or I should say I loved Sprint. I just endured the worst customer service experience in my life and am still shocked at how one representative treated me. I lost my job two months ago. I am struggling to make ends meet and set up a payment arrangement about a week and a half ago to pay my past due balance today. Well I had to pay rent and realized I did not have the funds available to make the payment today. I could have made a partial payment, I could have paid the full amount next Thursday, I could have figured out something. I thought I was doing the right thing by letting Sprint know last night that I would not have the money to make the payment arrangement today through the livechat option on the website. They told me they canceled the payment arrangement and to call sprint tomorrow (today). I called and found out that because the arrangement was completely cancelled, there was nothing they could do and that my phone will be disconnected on the 13th if I don't pay the balance in full. Look, I want to pay my bill. I am not looking for a handout. I've simply lost my job and am trying to stay afloat. It blows my mind that even though I can pay the amount on the 18th, it doesn't matter, it must be paid by the 13th to prevent my line from being disconnected. I could have adjusted the arrangement, paid partial payments, but because the rep online cancelled the whole thing now I'm out of options. I did speak to a couple friendly phone reps who were genuinely sorry they couldn't do anything, which I still don't understand, it's a matter of 5 days and wouldn't even have to be that if the rep would have informed me of what was going to happen. But Dominic, the supervisor of the first person I spoke with who couldn't have been sweeter, single handedly and in probably under 5 minutes treated me so poorly and disrespectfully that I am still in shock. He explained nothing to me, he asked me what I might be able to pay towards the balance, I told him I had $4 in my bank account and before I could even take a breath to say I could contact a friend to borrow money from (obviously I know $4 wouldn't mean anything, I was just trying to be honest and transparent) he scoffed and said nothing could be done. I asked for clarification, he belittled me, he sarcastically deflected my questions with answers that didn't mean anything, it was like he was desperate to get me to hang up or to leave sprint altogether. But in the end he beat me to the punch and hung up on me. He literally hung up on me. He didn't care at all that I'm completely falling to pieces on the other end of the line. 15 years with Sprint, never been with anyone else, never considered it. I am still in complete shock.
